New but old..
think this has been said before..everybody on here will have a preference the thing is..its your car..you do what makes you happy..thats all that counts... i think the most important thing is that you put your best efforts into preserving her as best as possible...so all the work you mentioned will go some way to restoring her to her former glory look forward to the updates

Anyone got one of these?
how many people would be able to notice the difference in a cars model just by the number of slots in the steelies ;D seriously that is a great advertisement for the mk2 cav community ;D

Little size wise As far as I am concerned it's a little car...anything smaller is a golf cart Seriously most of my life has been spent driving large saloon cars (carlton, senator, 5 series BMW etc...) so the cavvy is little...but i don't mean that at all insultingly ... i am a little person after all ;D

i second what my esteemed colleague says... it astonishes me the pent up passion there is about the little mk2....this is indeed a great site...i've been away too long!! Best advice is be patient and decide how much resto you want to do on on ebefore you buy and try and get in there before some of the others

hello from me
Shame that...it really did sound good...and he sounded a sound guy aswell... he's most definately a cav enthusiast so i wouldnt bet on him being back at some point I know he'd have liked it to go to one of us but when you're in the situation of needing money its understandable... fingers crossed the new owner looks after it

hello from me
Hi dude. I've been looking at that maroon one aswell... sounds like a good honest car and an excellent base.... abit of welding and paintwork should see it being very presentable and the owner sounds like a really nice guy to boot. I have a lovely Carlton diplomat to sell first otherwise i'd prolly buy it...ah well good luck with your search
