Found this site from reading this months TV, blue Mk2 is lovely.

Thought id sign up as i would love to have a Mk2 as a project :)

Little info, i'm a 21 year old engineering student from Edinburgh and i drive a 1.7 CDTi Corsa C which is running 143bhp/247lbft

Edit-009-2-1.jpg

i've got a build thread on CCUK http://www.corsa-c.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?263601-Lockeh-s-Derv

Hopefully i'll learn a bit and maybe get my hands on a Mk2 :)

Hello, that Corsa looks very, very nice, i drive a 2004 1.4 sri as a daily because its cheap to run reliable and i like the look of the M3 mirrors on the sri, ok with 90BHP it is not exactly a flying machine but it goes ok for what it is. I also run an SRI130 Saloon which i use regularly all year round. There are a few Cavs for sale at present of various models, depends on your budget, and preference and a wealth of information and advice on this site covering parts, rebuilds etc. Whatever the problem chances are someone on here will have had it and know a solution.

Hi buddy and welcome, love the wheels on your corsa, good luck when you find a cav.

welcome on board nice to see some more Scots more the merrier  :) :)

Welcome, good choice wanting a MK2... just keep an eye out there are a few around.

Corsa looks good, smooth lines not too Chav  ;)

welcome to the site

and thank you for taking the time to sign up and let us know how you found us.

Cheers guys :)

Decided im going to start looking for a saloon in the new year, should be a good year

Thanks for the corsa comments, it's good fun when its not spinning up but im toying with the idea of droping a 1.9 150 in it

i was looking at a 1.9 in a mk2 cav and thought it might be nice

faster than any standard mk2 cav ever made and nearly twice as good on fuel as the mk2 diesel as well

played with running 200bhp it would be as good as a let'd one and cheap to run

If I got my hands on a 1.9 it would go in the corsa, quite like the idea of dropping a let in a mk2 and keeping it looking oem/euro :)

Cav would be the weekend toy and the corsa would be the daily

Welcome to the MK2 Cav club mate. Nice to see I'm not the only young one who likes these cars. :)

That's good to hear. I didn't mean anything by the comment it's just that most lads our age are more interested newer cars and not old Cavaliers.  ;)

There are people of all ages on this site, i am an old fart of 60 but love the Cavs and i have noticed the number of young people say under 25 who stare at the 130 or pass comments to me about the car.

Hi mate, I have a 2010 Astra CDTI 150 aswell as the cav, and I am running a CRD-T DTUK box on the derv, pumps it to 216bhp and 330lbft and I can tell ya it goes VERY well!!! Keeps up with TT 225's, standard Turbo scooby's etc on rolling start... Thing to watch for though is the 150's have weak gearboxes, rubbing inlet manifolds as the swirl flaps go and alternators aint cheap either... Nice engines when running sweet though.. Heres mine
