how can you tell what no your calibre was - i have one but it doesn't even say calibre on V5 doc.

There is a rumour that it's written into the paint underneath the drivers side headlamp, I also had a cally, but no evidence was found, of the build number

ok will check tonight after work.

Think its a genuine one as the tow loop on back has an extended loop  to clear rear bumper and it was an older woman that owned it and still has main dealer sticker in back window and original rear number plate with dealer deatails onit .

Am sure mine have Calibre on the V5, but couldn't be 100% sure

Mine has one on the V5 but no number under the head light  ???

if it doesnt say cavalier calibre i on v5 its not a genuine calibre,a way you could tell is look at the rear tow hook they have a extended piece welded on obviously as the bumper was deeper and dont think a replica would go as far as fitting it.

mine has the extended tow hook- im happy again!  ;D

Still cant wait to get home and check under headlight though!  :)

alot don't seem to have the number under the headlight, 2cav's whats the reg of your calibre?

errrrrr - cant think off top off my head e reg - ends in dhg i think???

Bit vague on that one - not paid any attention to it this year - working on the cdi at the mo want to complete her first!

no E***DHG's on the calibre register but there's a E***DHJ

ah right that could be the one then - will check after i finish at work and post reg tommorow- what is calibre register - have you got a list of all calibres made?

A list of known calibre's, about 110 or so.

yup thats the feller, on the rac reg check it shows up as having no model.

either that or a base model dressed up as a calibre  ;D

oh well will check under headlight to see if there is anything there!  ;D

is it a genuine one then?, as both of mine have calibre on the v5

Not always.......

This is the strange thing, i have seem many Calibres that do not have it listed on the logbook, especially the early ones.......

It's the same with the cabbys , not all of them are listed as convertible, some (the very early stuff) is listed as 2 door (but not saloon)

My GT is listed as an Ascona GT, no mention that the roof is fabric!!!

Vauxhall were well known for inaccuracies during the 80's and 90's

It definatly had 'Calibre' on the V5, I remember seeing that and feeling relieved at the time.

both of my calibres had "Calibre i" on the log books,

another way to check if it is a real cally, the front towing eye is hand made & bolted on (usually bent up at the front from hitting the curb) under the radiator support ...
