November 1, 200619 yr comment_46388 Been to Tenerife for two weeks. Spotted 8 mk2 Cavs (Ascona's) all absolutely immaculate apart from a couple with door dents. All of them were saloons GT's, GL's and one modified beauty. Yes coming from Mr Standard it's hard to believe Im saying it. Why no Hatchbacks does anyone have any idea. Wish I could bring a left hooker back and convert to right hand drive. Report

November 1, 200619 yr CLUB MEMBER comment_46397 lol, i think there is a more interesting discussion here in that although int his country saloons were percieved to be more exclusive etc.. that the hatch outsold it 3 : 1 on the basis of practicality. So heres the thing, - what were the ratios aborad?! Report
November 2, 200619 yr comment_46400 Ah the reasion for this is easy, saloons are better that gets my vote!!!!but going with andy's idea whats the ratio like in ireland are there many opel saloons or hatches over there? Report
November 2, 200619 yr comment_46405 In the 1980's DIY took off and so did hatchbacks, what better way to pick up your supplies than in a hatchback or estate. There practicality made them more popular. My preference is still the saloon though, but I have 2 saloons a hatchback and an estate so got the best of all worlds. Report
November 2, 200619 yr comment_46408 Hatchbacks do it for me everytime.Much better looking car,but then again each to their own. ;D Report
November 2, 200619 yr comment_46444 Over here normally smaller cars like astras are 90% hatch while bigger ones like vectras 90% are saloon. In the showroom buying an astra saloon is more expensive than a hatchWhile buying a vectra hatch is more expensive than a saloon. This goes for all makes with their relitive size cars, i dunno why ??? What would Gordon do? Report
