hi my names chris, ive recently aquired a mk2 cav 1.6 gl hatch, needs some love and attention, currently off the road, but i plan to get it back to new and it will roll the black stuff once more.

i needs a couple of things im not sure were i can obtain from, like the front drivers side plastic trim, thats missing at the moment adn also a rear valance, as this one is in a right state and some previous owner thought they would be clever and screw a new sheet of metals across and hand paint it the same colour os the car. looks a right state, so id like to replace that too.

what would be really use ful is if any one has got a manual for the 88 mk 2 cav hatch, they dont need anymore, that i could purchase of them. the reason ive got into this is down to my uncle andy he is a member on here also, his name is andy jones, he owns my grandads mk 2 cav saloon, he mentioned this site to me so here i am.

Was the car actually taken from a scrap yard? Looks like another brown interior car.

nah not brown, its the light interior, need a good clean tho, it was from as good as the scrap yard, it was sat on a mates drive way for the last 18 months, slowly rotting away, but ill be putting a stop to that in time.

Hi Chris see you finally made it. Wot's been happening on the mk2 Cav since we last had a chat. There is a mk2 in a scrappy near me, I will get you the side trim off the drivers door. Do you need anything else while I am there

The wheel trims we spoke about were flat silver plastic, A bit more up market than the L versions. Someone in the club might have a set somewhere. A cheap option for a short while would be to fit some off a mk3 Cav. "not from a multi story car park either ;D ;D at least it would tidy the wheels up before you alloy wheel it. not alot really have`nt had the weather unfortunatly. ive changed the rear brakes so far., ive had little andy round the last two sundays, gettin him involved in it too. hes helped me t cut and polish it, and showed him how to change the brakes, changed the brake fluid and the anit freeze, gonna start on the body next, when you go to that cav would you have a look and see what state the gear gater is in, mine has cracked , would like to change it if i can find a better one, yeah woulnt mind them alloys, if they fit, thanks

I have a set of Manta Gte alloys you can have does anyone Know if they will fit? I Know the PCD is correct but will thy catch on the front struts

i put the manta gt 14's (ones with the square opel centre cap) on my old mk2 estate!!

They might well physically fit but the offset will be wrong.

I have seen some on a Cav before but the wheel bearings will take a beating and it will possibly drive a bit strange!

HY THERE IVE JUST RESCUED MY CAV 130 SALOON FROM THE SCRAPY NEEDS ALITTLE WELDING TO GET HER STREIGHT LIKE U IM AFTER BITS CANT FIND REAR CHASSIE RAILS ANYEHERE ???
