hi everyone , new to the forum but not new to the mk2 cav , had several in the past , a couple of which i deeply regret parting company with  :'(  decided to sign up here as i`ve just rescued an 87 cabrio from a scrappies , tho she`s not in the best of condition i belive she`s not too far gone to save  :)

welcome to the club! you'll find everything you need to know on here, plus access to some rare and hard to get hold of bits as wellas a bit of banter along the way and some great events. Now you need to post up some pics of your new ride, good bits and bad...and dont worry were a good bunch on here, some a little eccentric, some normal and some downright barmy. enjoy your stay! :)

cheers , the car is still currently sat at the breakers yard in birmingham , i`ll try get some pics next time i`m there as it`s my daily delivery area , i saw it thursday and asked him to put it somewhere safe so it did`nt aquire any more damage , as at the time i could`nt decide whether i was willing to take it on , after a discussion with my mate who own`s a bodyshop we decided it`s gotta be worth a shot at restoring it , it seems pretty much complete tho there are`nt any bumpers on it & it has a partially fitted calibre bodykit , tho only a fibreglass one , it looks as tho it`s had a respray before it was taken off the road and the majority of it is fairly clean and tidy tho when the scrappy picked it up they have wrecked the front panel and wings , but working for a body panel supplier they`re not an issue lol , the worst part of it as far as it goes for me is the roof as it`s ripped to shreds , tho i have been told it`s not that hard to get a new one made

welcome aboard mate

Yeh, welcome aboad. Plenty of Cabby owners in the club who can help with any Cabby-specific issues, such as the hood.

You're in the right place! Can't wait to see pics......I still fancy a Cabby myself at some point.

Just like mine mate, stuffed full of rubbish and got no wheels......waht you need is some BRIKS ;D

well luckily for me the breakers are gonna stick some wheels on it and move it to a safe place while i sort out the dosh & getting it picked up lol

What on earth was that doing on a scrap yard in the first place???

It looks solid from the pics. I know pics don't show what could be hiding away, but the sills, arches and door look good.

What are the front top mounts like?

I remember this one on Ebay recently, was on somones drive for ages.

Oh yeh, thought I recognised it! Looks like it never sold then so they gave up and scraped it! Well, at least it's going to be saved now :-)
