I used to be on this forum a while back under another name. however for some reason i could not get logged on, and with one thing and another have not bothered to get back on. Until now.

Was going to sell my '82 SR again, but with another change of heart have decided to do it up.

Decided this last time but this time i am determined to se it through this time.

I had it for sale for £300 and took some pics of under it, chassis legs/floor and inner wings are in good shape really.

Thing it just needs rear arches, outher sills, and door bottoms.

Thinking of lowering it, er quite a lot, looks a little daft up there.

The auto choke on the carb is shot, so will need replacing. Thinking of motor bike carbs or twin 45s.

Will need a cam belt.. so im thinking while the belt is off, slide in a new cam.

I also need new exhaust manifold as mine has a tiny hole in it. So im thinking 4-1.

Think clutch needs renewing aswell.

I know some of you may freak ou at what i want to do, but in my eyes im only making it better, and all the mods can be reversed if needed.

Does anyone know of the best place to get/have any of the above parts?

Is it true there are only 6 of these left?!

think this has been said before..everybody on here will have a preference

the thing is..its your car..you do what makes you happy..thats all that counts...

i think the most important thing is that you put your best efforts into preserving her as best as possible...so all the work you mentioned will go some way to restoring her to her former glory

welcome back to the site you are right to say the sr's are rare I'm sure there are only 8 sr's left 5 hatches and 3 saloons if you need any advice on restoring her engine wise talk to teaser as he got an Sr like yours good luck with your project  ;D ;D ;D

Basically the 1.6s and sh have more in common with the 1.8 and 2.0 engines rather than the smaller 1.2 - 1.4 etc engines. There's normally plenty of spares knocking around, so you shouldn't have any problems there. As for goodies a 4 branch from a early 1.8 will fit a 1.6s/sh. You can also get a weber 32/34 dmtl to replace the varajet 2 carb. I've got one on my cav, and had one before on a small block 1.6, they seem to make a difference. Twin Weber's or bike carb's sounds like a plan though
