i bought my 130 with the v5 or so i thought, seeing as its my first car 8im a bit of a noob

i thought the lad i bought it off had given me his peice to send off as he cuddewnt be arsed, but i have just realised it waws never sent off when he bought it. so its still registered to a guy in chester.

what shud i do?

im worried cus sumone put a note through the door sayin theyl tell the dvla. but can they take my 130 off me?????

hi mate when you brought the car did you get the large blue part of the v5 or just the small green part if you have big bit just fill in new keeper section and send it to dvla with a note explaining last owner did.nt send it off when he borght it if you have just have green part go to local dvla office explaining last owner did,nt change it they should then take down your details and issue new v5 in your name get them to date stamp green part and keep it until new v5 arrives also do you have any kind of recipt from when you brought the car to prove you have legal title to car ps thanks for info on seh ken

cheers ken,  the part i shud have filled in has bin filled in by the lad i bought it off so if i sent that off hed be the registered keeper, i think i need a duplicate of the form

if i were you i would tipex over the lad you brought it off details and put your own details in saves a lot of messing about ive done it before and got v5 back with my details on it ok ken

All thats happened is the chap you brought it off has never been the 'registered keeper' for whatever reason.

I wouldnt worry about it.

If you are in possesion of the whole V5 just fill out all the new keeper details (obviously now you) and just forge the signature of the seller and send it off.You'll be fine mate. ;D

cool, yeah im gonna tippex it as ken said, cus hed filled it in for him but never sent it, the reason why i havent done all this earlier was cus i think the lad i bought it off is a N0B and he exploited the car to make money, not what owning  mk2s is about, us enthusiasts kno theyre moneypits heheh. and i thought bout all the speeding i could do in his name(joking obviously!!!) ahahah

I'd not bother with the Tipex - just Cross it out and write your details in the margin.

Just send a small letter with the V5 explaining who you are and your address blah blah and the situation.

You'll be fine mate, one thing though the sooner you do it the better it'll probably look.

yeah ill get it sent whent he post strike is over, its already bin 2 months
