VBOA is pleased to announce the dates for the VBOA 2024 National Rally to be held at Sywell Aerodrome for the fifth year.

 

The show will open on Friday 26th July running until Sunday 28th.

 

Tickets will go live on the evening 11th December, a follow up email along with social will follow.

 

Hopefully drier like most years since we left Billing.

We've some planning to do in the new year to bring the stand upto the level we had before so the weekend works better whatever the weather does.

I think pretty much everything we spoke about this year can be in place for next years show.

That's good that they have set the date so early giving people plenty of chance to arrange holidays/ time of work in advance. No excuse for people not having a car with that amount of notice 🙄 

Got the holidays submitted.. count me in again next year... should be in mk2... if I can source an engine... if not the mk3 is on standby

I have the BBQ and gas sorted which is plenty big enough to cater for everyone so I will be bringing that with me.

Tony is working on the stickers now with the aim to have both general mk2cav member window stickers and show attendance stickers available.

 

We will have a proper shelter in case the rain returns or we just need a sun shade (fingers crossed). We'll have this in the next few weeks.

 

Andy is finishing up a club rebrand including a new logo that will be incorporated into merch and banners. So we'll have hoodies, t-shirts etc available before the show.

 

For the BBQ there will need to be a charge. Thinking £10 per adult and £5 per child? This should give us enough scope to put on a good spread (burgers, sausages, baked spuds, corn, some salad etc)

 

Thoughts and input welcome folks. I don't think I've missed any of the major stuff we've been missing over the past few years.

Well the ex has decided to take my boys away that weekend on his birthday so I will have to get booked in for me (maybe plus a n other).

Well.....it was sort of enjoyed, just not the swimming pool in the tent bit lol

There are now 45 days remaining until advanced, lower cost, booking ends. Then 2 weeks to the show.

 

I don't think this affects us but NO DOGS ALLOWED on the site. This is a Civil Aviation Authority rule.

If you already bought tickets please input the details in the other thread.

 

If you are coming but haven't yet it would be a huge help if you did soon. We need to justify the size of stand that we need and VBOA uses tickets sold when it decides stand sizes.

Agreed especially as we will only qualify for a 20 square meter stand.

Just booked and paid for myself looking forward to meeting some. In all the years of owning vauxhalls I've never been on a show stand with any of mine so please, break me in gently and use lube 🤣🤣🤣

All paid up aiming to get there mid afternoon on the Friday.

Do we need to bring any food donations ect? Not sure if there is a bbq or what I thought I saw something about one?

Just had a VBOA meeting. It looks like we will have the same stand as last year.

 

Our long range forecast has decent weather leading up to our weekend.

 

Don't forget, some others have, that if you are buying an overnight ticket you need the day tickets both side. VBOA will have the data to eject offenders from 9.00 in the morning.
