hi all

joined on here to see if somebody could help with the value of a mk2 sri. i have been given the task of selling a 1984 vauxhall cavalier sri hatchback the car has had two owners from new the last owner has had the car for 28 years .it has covered just 43000 miles from new and is in exceptional condition.the car has been stored in a heated garage since new and has not been on the road since 2005 only been cleaned and washed each weekend .i have had the car started and runs fine apart from misfire on tickover .it is in totally original condition having had no paintwork or sills or welding ect ect the car is totally rust free as far as i can see.

i need to try and put a value on the car ,it is not something we want to keep just trying to get an idea what to ask for it .

The thing with MK2 Cavs is most of the time they are worth what people are willing to pay which I know isn't a great help.

I'd say though with 12 months MOT and with no nastys underneath etc and the mileage is true with history to back it up etc etc , £2500 car all day long. Probably more to be honest.

thanks for the reply pal.it is a lovely car and very original i have also talked to a couple of classic car dealers who valued it between 2500-3000 so i think your right with your valuation might put it up  for sale on classic car site .
