Motorway Service Stations Calendar - April
This time it was a close one. #thegreencavvy never made it to Rustival as a week before the temperature gauge went into the red after a little local run about. We changed the thermostat (3 times), flushed the engine, changed the water pump, replaced 2 hoses, took out the radiator and flushed it but each time straight into the red after 1 mile of driving. Went to wire in a fan bypass switch and noticed the alternator was kicking out over 18volts! Swapped one 43 year old alternator out for another 43 year old alternator from PCT and back down to 14v. Had a 15 mile test run to Wisbech and all seemed ok. This left us 2 days to get the 4th stop on the Motorway services calendar ticked off, so after finishing work at 6pm last night me and the legend/idiot that is Martin Drummie set off for Corley North services 205 miles later and the most expensive burger king I have ever bought later and we got back home at 22:44 and she was once again perfect. Let’s hope that May's visit to Stafford Services (280 miles round trip) is a little easier and less rushed!

2 of 12 complete Stop number 2 of the Motorway Services calendar completed yesterday in the #greencavvy - 336 miles and she didn't miss a beat. This time for the journey i took my good friend Martin Drummie as well as my son and we met up with the lads at The Crap Car Collective (https://www.facebook.com/groups/1246037256564774) for tea and biscuits and an update on the Marina. Reading next month but i think #greencavvy has earned a rest and an oil change. #vauxhall #vauxhallcavaliermk2 #cavaliermk2 #a32ltm #greencavvy #servicestations #oncedrivenforeversmitten #BetterByDesign

Motorway Service Stations Calender - Jan
I got my son a motorway service station calendar for xmas as a stocking filler and January is Ferrybridge Services on the m62 - a mere 229 miles round trip. Armed with the latest ebay purchase of 'now thats what i call music' (correct age for the car) we started out at 10am and the #greencavvy #a32ltm was absolutely magnificent as always despite the filthy weather. Got back at 15:40 and averaged about 33.5 mpg Leeds Skelton to do in febuaray

2025 - 2000 (approx) Mile British Road Trip inc NC500
Epic trip - i always wanted a QX back in the day, but opted for a Audi A6 (first gen, so basically the Audi 100) (yes it was badge snobbery at the time) i will be doing some trips in my mk2 when i can convince the wife that it makes sense to drive 1000 miles in a 42 year old car with a 4 speed box

New owner of a Mk2 - A32LTM
Also posted on facebook Well then, i finally got around to to replacing the exhaust, rear springs and shocks on the Green Cavvy. Considering i have never done anything like this before it was fairly easy. Plenty of surface rust to deal with so will have to get back to it over the winter. First start up in 4 or 5 weeks and a lot quieter with the proper back box, still raspy and will need to get the straight thru pipe reversed but that's for another day. Haynes manual seems lacking in detail for the front shocks and springs so might have to do a bit of research Green Cavvy new exhaust.mp4

Another Green Mk2 Cav?
Well i saw another Vauxhall Cavalier in Green 1.3L hatch on ebay that was fairly local to the new house. Put in a bid and won it! Craig Vaux Mad Davies Bruce Davies delivered her on a flat bed yesterday. Martin Drummie is visiting today to see if we try and get 1 good one or if we can keep 2 alive. Last MOTed in 2006 with 61265 miles on the clock, now sitting on 61546. I put some fuel in and a battery and she started up. But the fluids look pretty shite, so will give her a quick service and put in an inline filter (thanks https://www.instagram.com/cavalier_steve/). The interior is better than #a32ltm and she seems fairly solid at the back, although the tailgate looks shot as do the front doors PCT was first registered on the 30th of August 1983 and was made in Antwerp, LTM was first registered on the same day but built in Luton. New owner of a Mk2 - A32LTM
I would be very interested if you have any photos/vids/documents or anything abot the old girl from my fb post https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=a32ltm Orginally registered to Vauxhall Motors Car Roll Plan on the 30/8/1983. I had been told that this was a ex press car, which i guess this supports It was then transferred in May 1984 to someone in Coventry who owned her for 3.5 years. Then the 3rd owner had the car from October 1987 to July 2015. I assume one of these was bought from the trader George Cox Cars The 4th Owner had the car for 7 years until 2022 and then she has changed hands 7 times in the last 2 years.

Not yet - need to swap out the exhaust and get the timing belt done before doing the london run - she will attact enough attention in rush hour without the sound of the exhaust. Just bought sills and arches so i can get her MOT ready
