  1. There are two things that have to happen to get on our stand. To show a car on any stand at the VBOA Show you have to be a member of the Club whos stand you are on. If you are not currently a Member you can rejoin/join up via https://www.mk2cav.com/store/category/2-club-membership/ You need to pay VBOA for entry to the show via https://vboa.org.uk/index.php/product-category/vboa-national-rally-2023/ at the Club drop down we are MK2 Cavalier Owners Network Once you've done that you put a post below with answers to my questions above.
  2. As you all know, we treat this annual show as a social get together of the Club's Members. This is our standard gathering information on who is coming thread. As in previous years please do not amend the master summary post. Please add your own post with the information requested and a Mod will add it to the master list before deleting it. Again, do not put chat here as it will be deleted. Put it in the chat thread. VBOA want to know 1. How many vehicles on the stand per day. We want to know how many are Mk2 Cavaliers and how many are others, Vauxhall or not. 2. How many tents and their approx size e.g. 2, 3 , 4 person etc The tents etc are at the back of the stand. 3. Any caravans/motorhomes/trailers if any, as space may be limited. So, when you say you are coming please state - name (handle and real), what car, reg, which day(s) - if overnight your tent size (people capacity), motorhome, caravan etc Thanks Greydj2 AKA John
  3. They would have swapped over to the mid spec, red stripe bumpers, during the summer shutdown so this and a few others would have been somewhere in the delivery cycle or waiting ready for the new reg.
  4. As its on a B plate with silver stripe bumpers, what you have there is almost certainly one of the very last early spec SRi. I had an May A reg, same colour, much nicer in my view than Helios that followed as there was a touch more blue in it, Helios is more silvery. Your photo makes it look silver. It will have the F16WR gearbox. Where are you?
  5. Here is one you would appreciate, 12 years ago in Norway. Have a friend who used to own the Opel dealership in Stavanger.
  6. This is the mounting point in a hatch, is it like yours?
  7. Look forward to seeing it there. The beauty of our Club is that it doesn't matter what it looks like, all Mk2s are welcome. So by the look of it yours will be among the 'lovely' ones as you put it.
  8. Welcome. You're not far from me, I'm just outside Newport Pagnell. Re you seat belt question. Anyone know if normal hatch belts fit?
  9. GreyDJ2 replied to newbody's topic in CLUB EVENTS
No as its not a Cavalier but it could be parked as usual at the back as an alien. Also trying not to tread on other Club's toes.
  10. I'm trying to track the Clubs bits and bobs. I have the main Club sign. What else is there out there and who has it, Gazebos etc?
  11. Hotel booking site live on Monday. Dear Affilated Clubs, The VBOA will NOT be taking hotel bookings for this years show, instead you will need to book direct with the Aviator Hotel at Sywell. The Aviator have confirmed they wil start to take bookings from Monday 9th January. You can book online https://www.aviatorhotel.co.uk/ or call 01604 642111Please note: The VBOA will NOT be able to assist with hotel booking enquiries.
  12. VBOA booking site now up and live. https://vboa.org.uk/index.php/product-category/vboa-national-rally-2023/
  13. We, as VBOA, are getting into the swing of owning and operating our own show. Financially it is back on an even keel so a lot of the stress and worry has gone. Plus getting used to the quirks of Sywell. Also F1 is setting Silverstone dates earlier.
  14. VBOA only starts on Friday nowadays. We also welcome Members Mk3s as well as Mk2s.
  15. GreyDJ2 replied to Mickyeddy's topic in NEW USERS
Welcome to the now quiet madhouse
  16. Anyone with comments good/bad please put them up so that I can report back. Good to see you Jason and Ethan and families again. Turnout may have been a bit low this year but I recon that it was one of the better shows, easily the best at Sywell now VBOA have got a handle on the organisation. Looks like we are back in the black too. Roll on next year.
  17. There is plenty of non club area parking if you don't come in a Mk2, then make your way to our stand.
  18. There is now a site map. Just found it by accident on the VBOA site. We are where we were last year with a similar size pitch. Easy to find but a trundle round a one way system. Note that we have one of the biggest pitches this year. Map is down this page, we are bottom right. https://vboa.org.uk/inde.../national-rally-2022-information/
  19. IMPORTANT PREBOOKING ENDS AT MIDNIGHT SUNDAY After that payment, at a higher price, will be on the gate. As you can see from the list not many have signed in. VBOA are allocating stand space based on prebookings on Sunday so it is important if you are coming only for a day that you get your ticket in advance to increase our stand size. The weather looks to be the best its been for years. A comfortable 22 with a chance of rain late afternoon on Sunday.
