Hi all, my name is Colin, I've just joined up so figured I'd come on and say hello. @newbody and @Scruffy 491 pointed me in the direction of the forum. Was going to be restoring a 1983 1.6gls saloon, that had been sat in a barn since 1999, but after a bit of a discussion and working costs out have now agreed a deal on a 88 hatch, so hopefully be able to get to a few shows and meets with you all next year. Few pics of the saloon that was going to be the project. Off for a look around

Sorry not a Club event but didn’t know where to put it (please let me know if you want it moved) i am very proud to say that my little green cavvy will be on the Cavalier and Chevette club stand from the 13th to the 15th (which is actually part of a 4 club stand). We are providing 4 mk2 cavaliers so there should be a few to ogle at. She has been all over the country so far this year as seen on the blog posts - Reading to Scotland, plenty of visits to Yorkshire and a little visit to a past home in Coventry. And she still has the NEC plus Tebay and Gloucester services to do, so the adventures are not yet over in 2026 for the green cavvy

83.3%/10 of 12 services - Rugby Services Fresh from being the Pizza Hut collection vehicle on Saturday night and as the weather not great at home decided to tick off Rugby Services which is October on the Motorway services calendar. This time i was accompanied by SWMBO Only a short trip this month at 150 miles round trip but she did flick over 62000 on the way there.

Stayed at a Travelodge in Kendal and then on the 1st of September went up to Annadale water services to tick off September - a trot of only 84 miles. Then tackled the 280 ish miles home which was much nicer with short stops off at Markham moor & leeming bar services. 641 miles covered in total in 2 days according to google maps, and apart from a couple of non starts (attached jump pack and she fires up so will get an new starter motor) #thegreencavvy was faultless and averaged 39.7 mpg on the homeward leg

8 of 12 Completed - Killington Lake 31st of August travel up to Killington Lake services, 265 miles, took the family this time which was a nice change but the traffic was rubbish on the A1 and M62 (yeah i know bank holiday). Then drove to Kendal to stay in a travel lodge before going to September's services

Failed MOT miserably on welding amongst a few other simple fixes. I sold her on the weekend 🥹
